Zamalek forward Gamal Hamza said he is devastated with coach Henri Michel's decision to use him as a substitute.

"There is no logic behind his (Michel's) decision to use me as a sub," Hamza was quoted as saying by Egyptian media.

Hamza has come of the bench on several occasions to help the team grab some pivotal wins, but not in Zamalek's latest defeat against Al-Faisali of Jordan in the Arab Champions League (ACL).

With Zamalek down 2-0, Michel introduced the talented 26-year-old in the second-half against Faisali, but Hamza could do nothing to help salvage Zamalek's Arab campaign.

"I’m no wizard," Hamza insisted. "I can’t just come on in the second-half and help Zamalek turn around a two-goal deficit."

Hamza had his share of criticism for the French coach's tactics.

"The 4-4-2 formation does not suit us because we have a very weak defense," said the Egyptian international.

"We're better off fielding three defenders."
