Egypt's qualifier against Mauritania set for June 3rd

Egypt's African Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania has been scheduled for June 3rd, 2007, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Sunday.

The EFA received a fax from their Mauritanian counterparts confirming the date of the game that will be played in Nouakchott.

Title holders Egypt are currently in charge of their 2008 Group B on 7 points, three points ahead of second placed Botswana, after two wins and a draw.

The Pharaohs beat Mauritania 3-0 in the first encounter that took place in Cairo on March 25th, courtesy of goals from Hossam Ghaly, Mohamed Zidan and a Belal Sidebe own goal.

Egypt's game against Burundi is yet to be set as it has been scheduled in the weekend of the 15th, 16th and 17th of June, 2007.

The top seed from each qualifying group will advance to the 2008 finals in Ghana along with three of the runners-up with the best finish.
