Tottenham Hotspur striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' has been ruled out of Egypt's game against Mauritania on June 3rd in the 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Egypt trainer Hamada Sedki revealed on Sunday the list of professionals who will be included in the squad, without the name of the former Ajax, Marseille and AS Roma frontman.

Mido has become Martin Jol's fourth-choice striker behind in-form duo Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane as well as Jermain Defoe.

The 24-year-old striker's last appearance with Spurs came in the 1-0 Premiership defeat to Chelsea on the seventh of April.

Konyaspor defender Mohamed Abdullah has been included for the first time since 2004, along with his teammate Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa who missed Egypt's 3-0 home win over Mauritania in the last CAN qualifiers match.

Other Turkey-based player, Rizespor defender and Ahli-target Ibrahim Saied, has made the squad.

Mainz forward Mohamed Zidan was named following his exploits this season in the Bundesliga despite his side's relegation the German second division.

Sheffield United winger Ahmed Fathi and Tottenham midfielder Hossam Ghaly are also included.

Egypt manager Hassan Shehata is set to announce the included local-based players on May 26th before the team hold their preparation camp one day later.

The Pharaohs are on top of Group B with seven points, three ahead of second-placed Botswana while Mauritania and Burundi lie third and fourth respectively on three points.
