Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that his Ukrainian striker Andriy Shevchenko was far from the heights expected from a £30million man.

"Sheva's season was not what everyone was thinking, including myself. In his defence he has a history of many years in a completely different culture. That can be on his side," said the Portuguese coach.

Otherwise he was full of praise for his other new comers: "Salomon Kalou had a quiet good season considering his young age and the new Premier League experience."

"Despite being criticized I think Michael Ballack had a good season and he had a positive impact on the whole team.

"Ashley was injured many times but was able to deliver his goods to the team. It was quiet satisfying specially that we are using a very different system than Arsenal."

And finally Mourinho confirmed that there will be no bog investment on the transfer market this season and that he only hopes for a normal season without too many injuries.
