Ahli's list of absentees for Monday's Cairo derby against Zamalek has increased after the Egyptian champions' technical staff decided to rest midfielder Mohamed Barakat until the season's end.

After securing the Egyptian League title for the third successive season, Ahli decided to rest some of the team's key players after a long and tiring season.

It was initially a six-man list but Angolan striker Flavio Amado has been added recently and now Barakat concludes it, Ahli said on their official website on Friday.

Mohamed Shawki, Shadi Mohamed, Essam Al-Hadari, Emad Meteb, Emad Al-Nahhas, Mohamed Abou-Treika, Flavio and Barakat will all miss Zamalek's clash as well as the league's final game against Ismaili.

The decision came in order to have the players fully fit for the CAF Champions League group stage which begins late in June.

Ahli assistant boss Hossam Al-Badri is set to lead the team in Zamalek and Ismaili matches as Portuguese coach Manuel Jose is spending holiday in his homeland.
