Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko revealed that he would like to play in the United States before the end of his career to follow in the footsteps of England star David Beckham who will move to LA Galaxy starting from next season.
“I'd like to play there. Soccer is growing in the US and I would like to be a part of that. I played there last summer against the Major League Soccer All-Stars and I saw that it is definitely improving," the 30-year-old Ukrainian striker told Sports Illustrated.com
Sheva was brought to Stamford Bridge for a £ 30 million record fee but he failed to reproduce his terrific form under the Milan shirt.
“It wasn't a great season but it hasn't been the worst," added the Ukrainian striker.
“I scored 14 goals and made 11 or 12 assists. It’s not a bad season. I know people wanted 30 goals a season but the reality is that it can't happen every season.
