Egypt striker Mohamed Zidan has been ruled out of Mauritania game on June 3rd in the Nations Cup qualifiers with a groin muscle injury.

"He has been ruled out with an injury and we are waiting for his medical report as he may need a surgery,” said Hassan Shehata, the Pharaohs manager.

Zidan missed Mainz game against Bayern Munich last week-end due to this injury and he is still under examination.

On the other hand, the training camp will start on Thursday with only 7 players.

Ahli players, who have been rested from the league matches, Essam Al-Hadari, Shadi Mohamed, Mohamed Abou Treika and Mohamed Shawki will start trainings along with three of the European based players Ahmed Hassan, Ahmed Fathi and Hossam Ghaly.

Turkish based duo Ibrahim Said and Mohamed Abdullah will join the group on Monday as they will be playing with their teams on Sunday.

The rest of the squad will be announced by Hassan Shehata on Saturday after the league games.

The Pharaohs are leading group 2 of the ACN qualifiers with 7 points and need the three points of Mauritania game to officially secure a place in the African tournament in Ghana.
