Amir Azmi's Al-Shabab were knocked out of the AFC Champions League after suffering a 1-0 away defeat to Iranian side Sepahan on Wednesday.

Al Shabab defender Hassan Maaz scored in his own net in the 33rd minute to give the hosts the victory before being sent-off six minutes from time.

Egyptian defender Azmi is still missing as he has been left out of the team's squad by Al-Shabab's Portuguese coach Jose De Morias.

Sepahan booked their place in the quarter-finals as they top Group D with 13 points, three ahead of the Saudi outfit who have been officially eliminated.

Elsewhere, Al-Karama of Syria have reached the last eight following a 2-0 home victory over Uzbekistan club Neftchi, thanks to Iyad Mando's brace.

Al-Karama are in charge of Group C on 11 points, one ahead of Neftchi to secure passage to the quarter-finals.
