Ruud Van Nistelrooy scored in the 90th minute to salvage a 2-2 draw for the Capital club at Zaragoza, while Espanyol's Raul Tamudo shattered Barcelona's title hopes with an equalizer in almost the same second to make it 2-2 at Nou Camp.
After the dramatic finale, Real players entered the pitch in jubilance and started celebrating their title success, but their next opponents, Mallorca, felt these actions were premature.
"They have underestimated Mallorca," Argentine midfielder Pereyra told Marca on Tuesday.
Los Blancos will face Mallorca in the final day of the Spanish Primera Liga at the Bernabeu, knowing that a win will surely hand them the title.
Despite Real's huge chance, Pereyra also believes that the celebrations of president Ramon Calderon and the reaction of Spanish media is unacceptable.
"And not just the players, also the assumptions of local press and the celebrations of the president [Calderon]," said Pereyra. "I really believe that they have failed to respect Mallorca."
