Mido's transfer to Birmingham took a twist

Egyptian striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' will complete his move to Fulham within the next few days after becoming frustrated at lack of first-team football with Tottenham Hotspur, the Sun reported on Thursday.

The 24-year-old has met Fulham's Egyptian chairman Mohamed Al-Fayed to discuss a possible transfer and looks set to be on his way to Craven Cottage, the Sun added.

Former Northern Ireland coach Lawrie Sanchez, who took over at Fulham after the sacking of Chris Coleman, is aiming to bolster his attacking options ahead of the new season to make up for last term's disappointing campaign.

The Cottagers finished 16th in the Premiership last season, just one point ahead of Ahmed Fathi's Sheffield United who were relegated to the Championship.

Mido, who permanently joined Tottenham from AS Roma in the off-season, has been Martin Jol's fourth attacking choice behind Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keane and Jermain Defoe.

The former Ajax striker will be hoping the new move could help him regain his status in the Egyptian national team after he was dropped lately in favor of Amr Zaki and Hamburg's new signing Mohamed Zidan.
