The Real Madrid striker started his hat-trick with a 35th minute penalty, before adding two late goals in the 83rd and 87th minutes to ensure the victory.
The Brazilians precede Chile on goal difference to claim second place, as both teams are tied at three points.
Meanwhile, Mexico registered an edgy 2-1 victory against Ecuador in the Venezuelan city Maturin to secure the first place in the competition's quarter finals.
Hugo Sanchez's men took a 21st lead through pacey forward Nery Castillo, and the lead was double 10 minutes from time by Omar Bravo, before PSV's Edison Mendez scored a late consolation in the 85th minute.
El Tri have the group summit on six points, while Ecuador are pointless at the bottom of the group.
Sanchez revealed Mexico's willingness to go on and win the Copa America title, especially after their opening game impressive 2-0 win against Brazil.
"We dream about winning the Copa, but we need to take things slowly - qualifying for the quarterfinals was just the first step, just because we beat Brazil, we shouldn't be considered the tournament favorites," said the Mexico manager.
