"The club have received two offers from Zamalek and Ahli but we preferred to sell him to the latter," Strasbourg general director Jean-Luc Herzog told Egyptian TV.
"Ahli have already paid 500,000 euros today and further 200,000 will be given to us later."
Ismaili claim that they paid Strasbourg the due 500,000 euros to turn Abd-Rabou's loan deal into a permanent one but the French club refused to receive the money, saying that the Egyptians missed the deadline.
The Dervishes insisted they will file a complaint to FIFA but Strasbourg are confident that they legally acted in a proper way.
"Ismaili should have paid the money on the 15th of June but they sent us a check ten days later. They won’t be able to justify their complaint because we have done nothing wrong," Herzog added.
Abd-Rabou also revealed that he has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal with Ahli on Monday despite his previous desire to stay with Ismaili.
"I wanted to stay until the last moment but the actions of Ismaili officials forced me out," the 23-year-old said.
"They said that they've paid the money, the claim which has been proven untrue."
