Egypt have turned down Tanzania's invitation to face them in a friendly game in September, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) said on Tuesday.

The Pharaohs' refusal came due to time shortage as they are scheduled to play Burundi in the 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on the seventh, eighth or ninth of September

The EFA told their Tanzanian counterparts to set another date which could be suitable to both sides' schedule.

Meanwhile, Zamalek newly-signed defender Beshir Al-Tabie has been cleared to play with the Cairo giants after his International Transfer Certificate arrived, according to EFA secretary general Farouk Abdul-Wahab.
