Eno

Former Zamalek player Moataz Eno has been presented by Ahli wearing the Red shirt during a press conference held in the club’s headquarter on Thursday.

“I would like to present Moataz Eno, the player who insisted in joining Ahli despite all the obstacles and the huge pressure he had to endure lately,” said Adli Al-Qaeyi, Ahli’s marketing manager.

Eno was the source of so much controversy for Zamalek last season as the latter claimed he had illegal negotiations with Ahli. But the Egyptian Football Association played down their claim and approved his move to Ahli as a free agent.

“It was a very critical period of my career but officials in Ahli kept supporting me especially Mahmoud Al-Khattib (vice-president) and Al-Qaeyi,” said Eno.

“Now it’s over but I have to thank the Zamalek supporters who stood by me before. It’s a new era of my career and I am delighted that I joined Ahli. I’m now back home and I hope I can help my teammates clinch more trophies,” added the 23-year-old midfielder, who was initially an Ahli player before leaving the club at the age of 13.

“I’m very excited and can’t wait to start training with the team but unfortunately, I’ll have to wait for a few more days as they are now in Abidjan.”

Al-Qaeyi said that Eno inked a three-year-deal giving no more details about the transfer.

Eno is set now to join the Olympic team who is going to play the All African Games in Algeria that will kick off on July 11th.
