Laudrup to succeed Schuster at Getafe

Getafe announced on Monday that Danish legend Michael Laudrup has been appointed as the manager of the team after the Real Madrid-departed Bernd Schuster.

Getafe announced on Monday that Danish legend Michael Laudrup has been appointed as the manager of the team after the Real Madrid-departed Bernd Schuster.

Laudrup 43, has signed a two-year contract with the King Cup finalists and will be officially presented next week.

Bernd Schuster has been linked with the Merengues since last January but the deal has been concluded on Monday and then Getafe put their sights on Laudrup.

The former Barcelona star is one of the most admired and respected players in the World. He started his coaching career in 2000 when he was appointed as assistant to Danish national team coach Morten Olsen.

Following the 2002 World Cup the Danish star took charge as a manager of Brondby, where he won the domestic double before leaving the team at the end of the 2005-06 season.
