"We agreed terms with Mahalla over Fathallah, we settled on EGP 3million, and the player will be joining Zamalek soon," Zamalek spokesman Khaled Gabr told FilGoal.com.
"The only matter to be discussed yet is the payment method, we are hoping to pay installments."
Zamalek could beat Ahli in signing the highly rated Fathallah, who has been consistently linked with the two teams throughout last season.
However, Zamalek's bid for Trabzonspor's Ayman Abdul-Aziz could fall through, as the Whites cannot afford the Turkish side's asking price for the midfielder.
"We will negotiate further with Trabzon over Abdul-Aziz, but the deal could be difficult because they demand 1.5million Euros, which is too much for us," Gabr added.
Moreover, Gabr ruled out Zamalek's move for Egypt defender Ibrahim Saied, saying that the club has no intention whatsoever to retain his services.
