Ahli's marketing manager Adli Al-Qaeyi announced that the club withdrew its bid for Mahmoud Fathallah last Saturday upon request of coach Manuel Jose.

"I heard many lies saying that we were still in bid for Fathallah until last night. We quit the race last Saturday and the Football committee coordinator Hadi Kashaba informed Ghazl Al-Mahalla's officials of our decision in the same day," said Al-Qaeyi.

"The negotiations were interrupted upon request of Jose who said that he doesn't need more players. Since last Saturday we ended our talks with Petrojet's Ossama Mohamed, Asyut's Mohamed Ibrahim and Ghazl Al-Mahalla's Fathallah and thanked their clubs for their cooperation.

Ahli were in negotiations with those three players but failed to conclude any deals.

On the other hand, Al-Qaeyi clarified the situation of the departed players.

"Mohamed Sedik moved permanently to Masri and he will be accompanied by Ahmed Galal on loan. Ahmed Hassan has been sold to Ittihad of Alexandria while Haytham Fazani and Abdul-Ilah Galal have been loaned to Ettisalat and Ittihad respectively."

"Concerning Wael Riad and Tarek Saad both could still be assigned in the squad but we are still open for any offers. Cheetos seems close to Enppi while Ittihad are interested in Saad."

"Akwetey Mensah's move to Masri has been put on hold as their coach is watching some foreign players and is weighting his options. We are looking for another offer to the Ghanaian midfielder."
