In a last attempt to force a move to Liverpool, Argentina defender Gabriel Heinze told Manchester United he wants an arbitration panel to decide on whether he can leave Old Trafford or not.

"An arbitration panel will meet next week to decide if Heinze can leave champions Manchester United for Liverpool" the Premier League said on Tuesday.

Heinze's move to the Reds has been blocked by Sir Alex Ferguson who doesn't want to sell the player to one of his main title rivals in the Premier League.

"I've spoken with the coach (Ferguson) and I have insisted that my wish is to leave the club if a big offer appears on the table," the 29-year-old defender told the Daily Mail on Tuesday.

"Today the only such offer is from Liverpool and it is this that is causing the problem. Earlier in the summer I received a promise from United that I could leave if the deal was good for both parties and at the moment there is an offer from Liverpool."

Liverpool are ready to cash 6.8 million pounds to get him but the offer has been turned down until now.
