Azmi confirmed last week that he has joined Debreceni on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent switch last summer.
However, he is now considering not completing the transfer after Debreceni stumbled in the UEFA Champions League preliminaries.
"Two weeks ago, I had two offers from Ismaili and Debreceni but opted to join the latter because the prospect of playing in the UEFA Champions League is very appealing," he told FilGoal.com.
"I was supposed to take part in Debreceni's match against Sweden's Elfsborg in the Champions League last week but couldn't because of a visa delay. I won't participate in the second-leg also which is scheduled for today."
Debreceni suffered a 1-0 home loss to Elfsborg in the competition's second qualifying round, the defeat which made Azmi change his mind regarding his move to the Hungarian outfit.
The former PAOK Saloniki defender, who is owned by Saudi club Al-Shabab, said he may join Ismaili especially after the Dervishes appointed Taha Basri as their new coach.
"I haven't signed the official contract with Debreceni yet; I'm supposed to do so when I travel to Hungary."
"I will sit down with Ismaili officials tonight to discuss a possible loan move and will wait to learn Debreceni's fate in the Champions League.
"I will choose either Ismaili or Debreceni on Wednesday morning at most as no transfer will be allowed in the Egyptian League after that date," he concluded.
