Officials from Italy traveled to Madrid earlier on Tuesday to complete the deal and bring the 31-year-old midfielder back to Italy.
The Spanish Champions have asked for 10m euro to release the former Juventus player. Valencia and Inter Milan withdrew their bids leaving Milan in pole position for the signature of the Brazilian midfielder.
They have offered 2m euro for a one-year loan, plus 5m euro more if they opt to sign Emerson. The deal should be sealed in the next few hours.
