The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) imposed an EGP 50 000-fine on Ahli after being found guilty of forging Sherif Ashraf signature to block his move to arch-rival Zamalek.

The Egyptian soccer governing body approved his transfer to Zamalek confirming that he was free to leave the Cairo giants as his contract expired last April.

Ahli have tried to block the transfer and claimed the player was assigned to the club’s youth team.

The Red Devils’ bosses have threatened to take a legal action against the player then retrieved their allegations and announced that they found a mistake in their records and that the responsible person has been severely punished.

The EFA have also sanctioned Ehad Tawfik, the director of the registrations’ department in Cairo, for being a part of the saga and contributing to presenting false documents.
