Kenya grabbed a 2-1 consolation victory over Angola in Addis Ababa in the 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifiers on Saturday.

Patrick Oboya put Kenya ahead in the 18th minute but was cancelled out by Manucho's strike 10 minutes before the break.

Dennis Oliech sealed the victory for Kenya eight minutes from time to hand his side a consolation victory after they missed out on securing a place in Ghana finals.

Angola, who had already secured their qualification, finished in charge of Group F with 13 points while Kenya concluded the qualifiers in third place on seven points.

Elsewhere, South Africa-based striker David Obua scored a hat-trick to help Uganda defeat Niger 3-1 at home and keep alive their hopes of reaching the African Cup of Nations.

Seydou Idrissa's strike for Niger leveled the score after Obua had put the hosts ahead early in the seventh minute.

Obua then restored the lead in the 82nd minute before ensuring the victory three minutes before the final whistle.

Uganda have a chance of finishing as one of the best three runners-up as they lie second in Group C with 11 points, four adrift of leaders Nigeria.
