After signing a new deal with Arsenal until 2011, Arsene Wenger has set his future plans of a new era in charge of the London club.

The French coach was delighted to sign a new contract after months of speculation suggesting his exit, and he is now ready for an exciting adventure with his young squad.

"I feel in our job you are always tempted to have other experiences," Wenger told the Daily Express.

"But I was mature enough to rate what I have, and I'm ambitious enough to know I can push this club forward. Today my desperate ambition is again to do that."

Wenger suffered a huge blow this summer when he lost skipper and club's all-time goal scorer Thierry Henry, who moved to Barcelona.

However, the young Gunners seemed unfazed by Henry's departure as they started the Premiership on a high note, winning three games out of four and producing some fine football as well.

"I want to achieve the maximum with this team and it is very young and very ambitious as well," added Wenger.

"I feel I share the ambition with everybody to make Arsenal the best club in the world and that everybody works to be successful in that.

"I want to win the championship, win the UEFA Champions League and be consistent. It's that simple."
