Egyptian FA president Samir Zaher expressed his disappointment at the performance shown by Egypt players in the 0-0 African Nations Cup draw at Burundi on Sunday.

Egypt need a win when they host minnows Botswana in the last Group 2 game next month in order to book their place in the 2008 Ghana finals next year.

"Despite the fact that we have a great chance of qualifying, the team's display in the Burundi game was poor," Zaher told FilGoal.com on Monday.

"There are no easy games in Africa when you play away, but that’s not enough for an excuse."

Zaher criticized the behavior of Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan after the latter was sent off shortly after the break, following an off the ball challenge on a Burundi player.

"Hassan's behavior was totally unacceptable and a fine will be imposed on him," he said.

The EFA chief conceded that he will hold a meeting with coach Hassan Shehata in order to discuss the team's poor away form.

Egypt have not won a single game away from home since the 2006 World Cup qualifiers 3-0 victory over Sudan three year ago.
