Milan new recruit Emerson hopes to be in full fitness when his side takes on Portuguese outfit Benfica in the Champions League next week.

The Brazilian midfielder joined the European champions from Real Madrid late this summer, and he is yet to gain match fitness as he was unsettled in the pre-season at Real.

"I still need to get into shape, but I played 90 minutes in the friendly at Kiev and in two weeks I will be in top condition," Emerson was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia.

"I like playing for a team that has made winning a habit and I can’t wait for the game against Benfica already."

The Rossoneri will visit Siena on Saturday before they start their European title defense against Benfica on Tuesday at San Siro.
