Former Zamalek captain Ismail Youssef looks favorite to become the next assistant coach of the club according to an anonymous source in the club.

"We have contacted him and he (Ismail Youssef) will give us an answer in the next few days," the source told FilGoal.com.

"If we get a positive answer we will start negotiations with his club in order to release him and so he could start his job as soon as possible," added the source.

Ismail Youssef is currently in charge of Jordan giants Al-Wehdat but he is under pressure as the club is underachieving.

The Cairo giants have decided to name a key figure to assist coach Ruud Krol in his mission especially that the team has been struggling since the beginning of the season despite the large summer spending.

Youssef tops the list of candidates that includes also Ashraf Qassem and Ahmed Ramzi.
