Miroslav Klose posted a hat-trick as Bayern Munich romped to a 5-0 victory over Energie Cottbus on Wednesday to take charge of the Bundesliga standings.

Martin Demichelis and Luca Toni were also on the score sheet as Bayern opened the floodgates in the last 31 minutes of the game.

Klose, who moved to Bayern from Werder Bremen last summer, raised his tally to eight goals in just six matches.

Toni also notched his sixth goal of the season as the Bavarians dominate the German League through their new signings.

Bayern are top of the table with 17 points, three ahead of Bayer Leverkusen who come second.
