Zamalek board has decided to exclude former club president Mortada Mansour from the club's membership after being condemned and imprisoned.

The club issued a statement on Thursday saying that Mansour committed the crime of attacking a judge and that, according to regulations, the board decided to drop his membership and send him a notification.

Mansour hit back at the board's decision: "This board led the club to its worst ever state. They don’t have the right to revoke me."

"While Ahli is honoring their former president Saleh Selim, this illegitimate board suspend's my membership.

"The situation in Zamalek has become like that in Iraq. USA imposed (Prime Minister Nouri) Al-Maliki there and Hassan Saqr imposed Abbas on Zamalek," added the former controversial president in his statement.

Mansour has been sentenced to one year in jail last May but he got an exceptional grace and will be out on Saturday.
