Kaka succeeds fellow countryman Ronaldinho who was the reigning champion over the past two years.

The FIFPro have also announced the World's best eleven for the season 2006/2007. Ivorian striker Didier Drogba has been chosen as the best striker in the World and was the only African to feature in the squad.
