Diouf denies quitting Senegal

Senegal captain El Hadji Diouf has announced his shock decision of putting an end to his international career due to some organizational problems.

"I have stopped my international career," the Bolton striker told radio station RFM in a telephone interview. "There are so many problems with the national team.

"The team has a scheduled friendly match in a week and we don't even know who we are playing against. This is unacceptable," said the former Liverpool striker.

"If we have to come and play for our country, we have to pay for our own air ticket and reimbursement of the cost is another big problem," he added.

The Teranga Lions have reached next year's African Nation's Cup in Ghana but the 26-year-old striker is firm on his decision.

Diouf played for Senegal 41 times scoring 16 goals. He was inspirational for their golden team that reached the World Cup finals in 2002 and the final of the African Nations Cup earlier this year.
