The Egypt full-back confirmed that a EGP4million offer was accepted by Ismaili and that he is expected to join in the winter break.
"I accepted the offer and the two clubs finally agreed terms," he told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.
Moawad, who has been with the Dervishes for more than seven seasons, will sign a two-year contract with Merrikh where he will receive $500,000.
Two weeks ago, Moawad denied Sudanese reports claiming that a deal has been finalized between both clubs, but it looks as though the transfer would finally go through.
Meanwhile, former chairman Ismail Osman is likely to retain his role as club president, in place of temporary chairman Yahia Al-Koumi.
