Despite struggling in the early Group F matches, Spain have edged closer to secure their place in Euro finals in Switzerland and Austria.
They lie on top of the group with 22 points, three ahead of second-placed Sweden, who have two games in hand.
Northern Ireland, who played a game less than Spain, are third on 16 points. The top two teams in each group qualify directly to Europe's greatest showpiece.
