Schalke and Werder Bremen played out a 1-1 draw at the Veltins-Arena in the Bundesliga match on Saturday.

Schalke took the lead after 14 minutes through Carlos Grossmuller, but defender Naldo equalized on 34 minutes.

Schalke hold 5th place with 18 points from 11 games, while Bremen are in second place with 21 points, five behind leaders Bayern Munich.

Elsewhere, champions Stuttgart registered a 1-0 victory over Bayer Leverkusen at the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion, courtesy of a 72nd minute goal from Andreas Beck.

Stuttgart are struggling in 12th place with 13 points, while Leverkusen have 15 points in 10th place.
