Hossam Hassan said on Sunday he intends to leave Alexandria-based club Ittihad when the transfer window re-opens in January.

"I will meet with (vice-president) Mohamed Moselhi in the coming few days to discuss a possible mutual agreement that would see me depart in January," Hassan told Egyptian TV.

The 41-year-old striker was involved in several troubles with Ittihad board since his arrival from Tersana in the close season.

He skipped training more than once; to the frustration of his teammates who accused Ittihad board of being biased towards the veteran frontman.

The accusation has seemingly prompted Ittihad board to react and to have a strict approach towards Hassan.

Unbearable action

The straw that broke the camel's back was Hassan's traveling to UAE to take part in a charity match without the club's permission.

According to football director Sayed Karawan, Ittihad have fined the former Ahli and Zamalek man EGP 25,000 and summoned him to a hearing.

"I did not fly to UAE without permission, I informed coach Mohamed Salah before my departure," Hassan insisted.

Hassan hasn't scored a single goal this season as Ittihad are struggling at the bottom of the table, having failed to win any match so far.
