FIFA decided to suspend Kuwait from all international competitions after the government interfered in the national game.

The Gulf nation held elections for the football federation (KFA) on October 9th without the approval of both FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

FIFA accused Kuwait of ignoring the two authorities and ordered the Asian country to re-hold elections, ensuring there is no governmental interference.

The football world governing body sanction to Kuwait means that the Blues will be ruled out of the 2010 World Cup qualifiers starting next month.
