Sherif Ashraf celebrates his double
New striking force Sherif Ashraf struck twice to put Zamalek in the fourth place with 16 points after beating Ghazl Al-Mahala 3-1, on Thursday night, in the Military Academy stadium.

The former Ahli striker scored on both sides of the break, 32 and 58, Abdul-Halim Ali scored his first goal of the season in the 67th minute while Mohamed Atteya hit the visitors' consolation goal three minutes later.

Ashraf broke the dead lock at the hour mark when he connected with Ahmed Magdi's cross.

The 20-year old player was again in the right place as he was sent clear on goal by Ahmed Abdul-Raouf and shot past the keeper to double the lead.

Abdul-Halim made it 3-0 from another fine cross by Tarek Al-Sayed before Mohamed Atteya cut the lead three minutes later with a well-placed header.

The victory lifts Zamalek to the fourth place with 16 points six behind leaders Gaish.
