Egyptian coach Mohamed Omar will take over as the manager of Jordan side Al-Wehdat succeeding to his fellow country man Ismail Youssef.

"Ismail Youssef and his staff resigned on Friday and Mohamed Omar has been appointed as the new head coach," the club's spokesman Youssef Mokhtar was quoted saying on the club's official website.

"He should arrive on Saturday to start immediately his mission," added Mokhtar.

Youssef has been dismissed due to insufficient result as the club made a poor start of the season and had been eliminated from the Asian Confederations Cup.

Omar, who had a previous spell at Al-Wehdat, will make his debut with the Jordan giants on Monday against Egyptian league leaders Gaish in round 16 of the Arab Champions League.
