Bayern Munich manager Ottmar Hitzfeld has blamed his players' poor finishing for the scoreless draw conceded against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

“We had four or five gilt-edged chances, and that normally gets you at least one goal,” Hitzfeld.

“We warmed his (Eintracht's keeper) gloves fairly regularly,” Hitzfeld ironically noted.

The visitors goalie blocked 15 shots from Bayern's players during the 90 minutes.

“We gave it everything we had, but it wasn’t to be," Hitzfeld was quoted saying on the club's website on Sunday.

The Bavarian side registered a new record of lost chances as they had 38 attempts on goal but none of them went through the nets. Only Dortmund did worse in 1993 when they registered 41 tries in their 0-0 draw against Leipzig.

The result leaves Bayern on top of the table with 28 points and the strongest attack of the Bundesliga with 27 goals in 12 matches.
