Egyptian manager Mohamed Omar stepped down from his job as a head coach of Jordan giants Al-Wehdat after only one game in charge.

"I resigned as the board refused to let me choose my assistants and assign a national staff," Omar told FilGoal.com.

Omar, who made his debut against Al-Gaish on Monday, succeeded his fellow countryman Ismail Youssef who was sacked last week.

"I was approached by Masri and will resume talks with them as soon as I get back on Wednesday," revealed Omar.

The former Ittihad coach had a previous spell at the Port-Saied based club last year but he had no glories.
