Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said that he is aiming to top his Group F in the UEFA Champions League and not just the qualify to the next round.

The Red Devils thrashed Dynamo Kiev 4-0 on Wednesday to secure their qualification to the round of 16.

"It gets us into the next stage of the Champions League so we must be very pleased with that," the Scot told Skysports.com.

"I think if we win the next game that's us winning the group and that's what we intend to do."

United next take on third placed Sporting Lisbon at home on November 27th, and a win in Old Trafford will secure them the group summit.

"In this situation we are at home against Sporting Lisbon and if we win that we win the group and there will be an emphasis on that."

Despite this large result, Ferguson did not seem impressed by his side's performance.

"I don't know about the perfect performance, but it's a perfect result for us.," he added.

Manchester United are on top of the group with 12 points in four matches, six ahead of second-placed AS Roma.
