The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has turned down Ahli's appeal to lift the ban on midfielder Mohamed Barakat following a second booking picked in the CAF Champions League final first leg two weeks ago.

Ahli have announced on their website that the president of the disciplinary committee Raymond Hack rejected the appeal on Thursday and that Barakat won’t be available for Friday’s decider.

The Ahli midfielder has been booked for simulation in the area but the TV replays showed that he was pulled down by a Tunisian defender.

Manager Manuel Jose had previously announced that he won’t take Barakat into consideration for the return leg.

Ahli, who managed a goalless draw in the first leg, need a victory to win their third consecutive title.
