Adriano still on the fringes

Brazilian striker Adriano revealed that he is fed up of being a backup player at Inter Milan, hinting that he is ready to leave the Italian champions.

The 25-year-old has been out of favor for coach Roberto Mancini throughout the past couple of seasons, following his poor form and off the pitch attitude.

"I want to play and it doesn’t matter where," Adriano said in an interview with Brazilian radio program Rede Globo.

L'Imperator has been struggling with personal problems and addicted to drinking, which saw him retreat to fifth choice striker in the Inter roster.

However, Adriano insists he has passed this phase and that he is waiting for a decision from the Nerazzurri officials regarding his exit.

"I haven’t been feeling bad and I’ve been playing well. Now I’m just waiting on a decision from the boss and the club," he added.

"I don’t want to dwell on the past and what has happened, but I started the season with a chance of playing and was then left out with no explanation."

The prolific striker scored the winning goal on his season debut during the 1-0 win at Reggina last month, but has not featured ever since, apparently due to his angry reaction to being substituted.

Adriano has also lost his place in the Selecao, but he stated that Brazil boss Dunga has been standing by his side in hard times.

"Carlos Dunga has given me lots of advice on how to stop repeating my past problems," he said.

"I’ll carry on working. I’m smiling again because things are going well."
