The Egyptian champions were reluctant to loan out Mostafa, whose contract runs out in the summer, in order not to lose him for nothing at the end of the season.
However, the tireless midfielder has pledged his future to the Reds, who allowed him to go on an eight-month loan deal with the Mecca Warriors.
Ahli marketing manager Adli Al-Qaeyi said that Mostafa will take full advantage of the amount of his loan, which is believed to be round $350,000.
"We allowed Hassan to get the financial benefit of the move, to make it go through" Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com.
On the other hand, the international midfielder was delighted to have signed a new contract with the club where he began his career.
"I am very happy to continue my career with Ahli, I was raised in this club," Mostafa told Ahli's official site.
"I also want to thank the board for giving me the opportunity of joining Wehda on loan, but I am looking forward to return to Ahli next season."
The 28-year-old midfielder has been struggling to find a regular place in Manuel Jose's starting eleven this season, despite some impressive performances.
