Sfaxien beat Etoile Sahel on aggregate

Sfaxien claimed the CAF Confederation Cup title after securing a 1-0 home victory over Sudan's Al-Merrikh to win Africa's secondary club competition with a 5-2 aggregate score.

Defender Emir Haj Massaoud notched the winner with four minutes left to give Sfaxien their first Confederation Cup triumph in its new format.

The Tunisian side claimed the CAF Cup in 1998 but the competition, along with the Cup Winners' Cup, were replaced by the Confederation Cup.

Sfaxien will meet neighbors Etoile Sahel in the African Super Cup as the latter lifted the Champions League trophy after overcoming Cairo giants Ahli.
