Egypt focused on Ghana finals

Egypt assistant coach Hamada Sedki refused to comment on the draw of the first qualifying round of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The Pharaohs will be tackled by Congo DR, Malawi and Djibouti in Group 12, but Sedki believes its too early to talk about the qualifiers.

The African champions are preparing to defend their title in next year's Nations Cup in Ghana, as the Egypt assistant coach hinted that the technical staff's future will depend on the outcome of the tournament.

"We are currently focused on the African Cup of Nations, we are not sure what will happen after the competition," Sedki told FilGoal.com.

Egypt are firm favorites to win the group, whose leader will advance to the final round of the qualifiers.

Hassan Shehata's team clinched the gold medal in the football competition of the 11th Pan Arab Games, beating Saudi Arabia 2-1 on Sunday.
