Riquelme on brink of Boca return

Unsettled playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme could be joining former club Boca Juniors after Villarreal agreed to sell him to the Argentine giants.

The Primera Liga side issued a statement on Monday confirming that: "Directors Jose Manuel Llaneza and Miguel Perez will meet with the Argentine club in Buenos Aires on Wednesday to complete the transfer."

The two teams have already agreed the move in principal after Riquelme's future with the Yellow Submarine became in major doubt.

The Argentine wizard has fallen out with coach Manuel Pellegrini since last season, and has been frequently ignored by the Chilean manager this term
