The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced the fixtures of next year's Champions League and Confederation Cup competitions' first rounds.

Champions League runners-up Ahli were given a preliminary round bye, and should face the winner from the game between Kenya's Tusker and Eritrea's Al-Tahrir in the second round.

Holders Etoile Sahel have been also given first round bye, alongside ASEC Mimosas, Ittihad of Libya, Algeria's JS Kabylie and Hilal of Sudan.

Ahli's second round first leg game will be played in Cairo on either the 21st, 22nd or 23rd of March 2008, with the second leg to be played on the weekend of 4-6 April.

Egyptian league vice-champions Zamalek, who are Egypt's other representatives, will face APR FC of Rwanda in the preliminary round.

The Whites will play the first leg at home on the weekend of 15-17 February 2008, while the return leg will take place two weeks later.

Harras Al-Hodoud make debut

The Confederation Cup draw paired debutants Harras Al-Hodoud against MC Alger of Algeria in the second round of the competition.

The first leg will be played in Algeria on the weekend of 21-23 March 2008, while the second leg will be played two weeks later.

Ismaili, who represented Egypt in last year's tournament, opted to participate in the Arab Champions League rather than the African competition.
