Pippo breaks record to lead Milan past Celtic

Italian giants AC Milan registered a 1-0 win over Celtic, on Tuesday, in the last day of the UEFA Champions League just a few days before playing in the Clubs World Cup set to kick off in Japan next Friday.

Italian giants AC Milan registered a 1-0 win over Celtic, on Tuesday, in the last day of the UEFA Champions League just a few days before playing in the Clubs World Cup set to kick off in Japan next Friday.

Filippo Inzaghi hit the only goal of the game as he connected with Cafu’s cross to grab the full points of the game and secure the top of the group D with 13 points.

Pippo becomes the highest scorer in UEFA club competition, surpassing German legend Gerd Müller's tally of 62 goals.

Milan reach the last 16 as top of the group while Celtic follow them with 9 points.

Elsewhere Benfica beat Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 in Ukraine to finish third with 7 points and book themselves a place in the UEFA Cup.
