Giggsy notched in the opener in United's 4-1 drubbing of rock bottom Derby County on Saturday to become the club's 11th player hitting a century of goals.
"Obviously I'm really pleased to have scored 100 league goals," the Welshman told United's official site.
"It's a great achievement and I'm pleased that I eventually got there."
Ferguson Praise
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson hailed Giggs' achievement as he was astonished that the rare exploit did not receive much applaud.
"I'm amazed that there hasn't been more made of it," said the Scottish manager.
"I think we should be making a big deal of it because it’s a fantastic achievement. Not many players have scored 100 league goals for this club."
Whilst Giggs' international career has been blemished by his nation's poor status in the world of football, the 34-year-old is no less than a legend at Old Trafford.
The skilful winger spent his entire career with the Red Devils, as he played over 500 games under the management of Ferguson.
