A late Pavel Nedved goal helped Juventus see off Atalanta 1-0 in the Serie A on Sunday.

Held at the Stadio Olimpico until the 86th minute, Juventus grabbed all three points through former Czech Republic skipper Nedved.

He fired a magnificent ball from outside the box to finally beat brave keeper Ferdinando Coppola who had to make some heroic saves and seemed to be leading his teammates to a get off with a precious point.

Elsewhere Champions Inter Milan stretched their lead at the top of the table to five points after hammering Torino 4-0 at home.

The visitors could hold on until the 38th minute before being hit by the storm.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic broke the deadlock from spot, Julio Cruz doubled the lead five minutes after the break while Luis Jimenez and Ivan Cordoba, 52 and 76, got their names on the score sheet.

The Nerazzuri are on top of the Italian standings with 37 points, 5 ahead of AS Roma who were held 1-1 at Livorno while Juventus are a step lower with 29 points.
